About Marco

Marco is running for the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives to serve the residents of District 30, which includes Shaler, O’Hara, Hampton, Fox Chapel and Richland.

Growing up in Western Pennsylvania in a working-class family, Marco learned the values that motivated him to dedicate his career to the service of others. Marco enlisted in the Navy and left for boot camp the day after he was handed his high school diploma. He served six years in the Seabees, the Navy’s construction force whose motto is “We Build, We Fight!”  After his military service concluded, he joined AmeriCorps VISTA, the domestic service corps started by President John F. Kennedy and modeled after the Peace Corps. During his AmeriCorps service, he worked with The Pittsburgh Project, which is an organization that performs free home repairs for low-income elderly.

A first-generation college graduate, Marco attended Allegheny College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.  While attending law school, Marco began working in the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, where he assisted in the prosecution of homicide cases.  After law school, Marco was hired as an Assistant District Attorney (A.D.A.) and worked as a criminal prosecutor prior to opening his own law office. His law office represents small businesses, individuals in civil disputes, people in the criminal justice system, and provides pro bono legal services for veterans.

Marco is also active in the non-profit community: he is a former board member with the Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard; an advisory board member with the Message Carriers of Pennsylvania, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating the opioid epidemic; and a former youth mentor with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh.

Marco is a proud member of a union family. While working as an A.D.A., he was a union member organized with the United Steelworkers (USW), his wife is a current member of the USW, and his father was a steelworker and currently receives a USW pension. Marco and his wife, Megan Sasinoski, live in O’Hara with their son William and their dog Martin.
