Marco is running for the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives to serve the residents of District 30, which includes Shaler (part), Fox Chapel, O’Hara (part), Hampton, and Richland.

Marco was raised by a single mother and his two older sisters. Marco's family faced many financial challenges while he was growing up; they were even homeless and spent a summer living in a Women’s Crisis Center shelter. From these experiences, Marco learned the role we as a community play in protecting our most vulnerable, and the value of hard work in overcoming challenges.

Marco signed up to enlist in the Navy at age 17 and left for boot camp the day after he was handed his high school diploma. He served in the Seabees, the Navy’s building and construction force.  Marco is a first-generation college graduate and started community college at night while serving in the Navy.  After his active duty military service concluded, Marco finished his college degree at Allegheny College.  Upon graduation, he wanted to serve again so he joined the AmeriCorps VISTA program and worked with a non-profit, The Pittsburgh Project, performing free home repairs for low-income elderly residents.

After the conclusion of his AmeriCorps Service, Marco went to Pitt Law School and began serving at the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office.  After law school, Marco was hired as an Assistant District Attorney (A.D.A.) and worked as a criminal prosecutor prior to opening his own law office with a partner.  Marco has worked on both prosecution and criminal defense cases, so he’s seen the law from both sides of a courtroom.

Marco is a proud member of a union family. While working as an A.D.A., he was a union member organized with the United Steelworkers (USW), his wife is a member of the USW, and his father was a union steelworker as a young man and currently receives a USW pension. Marco and his wife, Megan Sasinoski, live in O’Hara with their son William and their dog Martin.
